Michael J. Costa
CPA, CCIFP, DABFE, DABFA

As partner-in-charge of client services, Mr. Costa provides accounting, auditing, tax planning, and consulting services to high net worth individuals and closely held and family owned businesses in the construction, construction related, retail, and wholesale industries, as well as to professional service firms. For these clients, Mr. Costa serves as a trusted advisor to consult on matters including asset protection, business succession planning, and estate tax minimization.

Mr. Costa has particular expertise in advising clients in the construction and related industries. In fact, he has earned the prestigious Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) designation which he shares with less than 400 individuals nationwide. This prestigious award is given to those professionals that pass a comprehensive exam covering topics including surety, legal, insurance, and taxation issues.

Mr. Costa is also a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE) as well as The American College of Forensic Examiners. These memberships uniquely qualify him to respond to client's forensic needs.

As a former adjunct professor of accounting at the State University at Old Westbury (SUNY), Mr. Costa received high honors from both faculty as well as the student body. He is also a frequent lecturer to bankers, attorneys, sureties, and business owners, discussing the topics of succession planning, pension design, and executive benefits, among other topics.

In addition to professional organizations, Mr. Costa serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors of Contractors For Kids, a nonprofit organization.

Mr. Costa received his Bachelor of Arts degree from City University of New York, Queens College.
